The Palm Coast City Council is set to approve $85,400 in cultural arts grants to eight organizations, all nonprofits, all but one of which have been regular recipients of the city’s annual grants. The grants are ostensibly competitive, but the eight awards went to the only eight applicants this year, a reflection of the dearth of cultural organizations in the city and the county despite efforts to broaden the grants’ reach.
