On Saturday, Sept. 27, 2026, the Live Like Cameron Pajama 5K event, “Dreaming of a Cure,” raised awareness and funds for children battling cancer. The event featured a moon and stars theme and a gold ribbon, the ribbon of childhood cancer awareness, and runners were able to run in their pajamas if they chose to.
This year, the blanket and pajama drive was added to the event to collect items for young cancer patients; organizers were not expecting the response they got. “I was beyond overwhelmed by generosity and the amount donated,” remarked one organizer. They are still counting, but they estimate they collected around or more than 1,000 pajamas. A good amount of the total was donated by the Phuncoast Parrotheads, who donated about $1,500 worth.
“We are so grateful for the amount of volunteers that showed up this year,” remarked the organizers. Coach Giorgianni and Coach Wilson brought their entrepreneurship students from Flagler Palm Coast High School, and the school’s baseball team also volunteered. The Flagler Palm Coast High School band also performed, and the color guard from Matanzas High School participated as well.
Organizers would also like to thank all of the sponsors for the event, and for everyone who came out to show their love and support for the “Angels and Survivors.”
