How African Muslims Enslaved in America Resisted Bondage

Up to 30 percent of Africans enslaved in the Americas were Muslim. Personal records from individuals like Omar ibn Said, Ayuba Suleiman Diallo, and Abdul Rahman Ibrahima ibn Sori document how early American Muslims actively resisted the institution of slavery.
