The City of Palm Coast has announced three temporary road closures in late August and September to allow crews to repair and replace underground stormwater pipes. Brittany Kershaw, the city’s director of communications and marketing, released all three notices on Aug. 28, 2026.
Each closure is for stormwater infrastructure work, and the city is asking drivers to use caution, follow posted traffic signs, and allow extra travel time. “The City appreciates the community’s patience and cooperation as we work to improve Palm Coast’s stormwater infrastructure,” each notice states.
Edgewater Drive
Edgewater Drive will be closed at 25 Edgewater Drive from Monday, Aug. 31, through Friday, Sept. 4, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. Overnight closures are also tentatively planned for Sept. 1, 2, and 3 if needed. The work is being done by city subcontractor American Civil.
Traffic will be detoured around the work using Edgemont Lane and Edgely Lane, with extra traffic control added if the closure runs overnight. The city said drivers may also see partial closures and roadside hazards at 22 Edgely Lane and 8 Edgemont Lane during the same daytime hours. This extra work is meant to rebuild the road over stormwater pipes that were replaced earlier. A clear path for traffic will be kept open, but the city said to expect delays.
Westmar Place
The Westmar Place cul-de-sac will have a temporary closure from Tuesday, Sept. 1, through Friday, Sept. 18, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays. There will be no closure on weekends or on Monday, Sept. 7, for the Labor Day holiday. The work is being done by city subcontractor Cline.
During work hours, traffic will be limited from entering and leaving the cul-de-sac. The city said residents will still be able to reach their homes at all times, though some delays are expected. Department of Transportation traffic control devices and warning signs will be in place.
Wheeling Lane
Wheeling Lane will be closed at 2 Wheeling Lane from Tuesday, Sept. 1, through Thursday, Sept. 3, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. The city said the closure was first set for the prior week but was rescheduled to allow for more engineering design review.
Traffic will be detoured around the work using Wheatfield Lane and Wheeldon Lane, with Department of Transportation traffic control devices in place to guide drivers.
The city noted that residents can follow updates on its social media pages or sign up for weekly updates through the city website.
