Employees of the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office donated $22,777 to the Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches, the agency announced.
The gift brings the total that FCSO employees have donated to the Youth Ranches to about $226,777 since 2017.
Sheriff Rick Staly presented the latest donation check to Marion County Sheriff Billy Woods, who serves as chairman of the Youth Ranches board of directors. The presentation took place Monday, July 27, at the Florida Sheriffs Association Summer Conference in Miami.
What the sheriff said
“The Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches have been changing young lives for generations, and I’m proud that our team continues to support their mission year after year,” said Staly. “Our employees are committed to making a difference both on and off the job. Their generosity helps provide hope, guidance, support, and opportunities for children who need them the most.”
Staly previously served six years on the Youth Ranches board of directors, including a term as chairman.
About the Youth Ranches
The Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches was founded in 1957 and works to improve the lives of at-risk children through programs offered at several campuses across the state. According to the Sheriff’s Office, the organization is credited with helping more than 177,000 children and families in Florida.
Its stated mission is to prevent delinquency and develop lawful, resilient, and productive citizens. The organization’s motto is “Mending Lives, Healing Hearts.”
