In People Like Us, Chapman pieces together her story in a hybrid format through narrative, essays, vignettes, poetry, and photos. The memoir describes how early experiences, environment, and seeking affirmation shape our beliefs of who we are and what we can become. Struggling to determine who she was while experiencing not being “good enough”, defeats, balancing reality with one’s convictions, career adjustments, chronic illness, and tragic losses all presented challenges. After realizing it was the self-validation she needed, she turned these setbacks into redirection. Now, she knows she is fulfilling her mission as a writer to empower strong women through the written word.

She is an award-winning independent author who has published a total of seven books. You can learn more about her on her website, www.georgiajanet.com.
