Flagler County Sheriff’s Office deputies made 11 arrests this past weekend between 6 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 18, 2026, and 6 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 21, 2026. Deputies handled 674 calls for service and made 157 traffic stops.
Two Arrested for Multiple Shopliftings from Same Store in One Day
On Friday, deputies arrested a man and a woman on theft charges after an investigation of one shoplifting led to discovery of another shoplifting incident earlier the same day.
Friday afternoon, deputies responded to Target in Palm Coast to investigate a shoplifting reported by the store’s loss prevention officer. Deputies reviewed surveillance footage, which showed a man and woman stealing an electric scooter from the store, and began searching for the two suspects.
Deputies located the suspects, later identified as Robert Jones, 45, and Nicole Kinser, 42, both of Palm Coast, at Central Park in Town Center. Deputies found Jones and Kinser sitting on a brick wall in front of two electric scooters. As deputies approached, they noticed Jones was reading a user manual for one of the scooters and observed the boxes for the scooters in nearby bushes.
During further investigation, deputies contacted Target about the second scooter and discovered it had been stolen earlier in the day by a man matching Jones’ description.
Deputies arrested Jones for grand theft – $750 to $5K and Kinser for shoplifting – petit theft. Both were transported to the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility, where they are being held on a $2,500 bond and $500 bond, respectively.

“These people were dumb enough to steal the same thing from the same store twice in one day and thought they could get away with it,” said Sheriff Rick Staly. “Now instead of riding their new stolen scooters, they got a free ride to the Green Roof Inn in a patrol car. Five-finger discounts aren’t free but they do get you a free ride, bed and breakfast at our jail!”
Jones and Kinser have both been arrested before. Jones has been previously arrested multiple times for theft and shoplifting charges, as well as possession of drug paraphernalia. Kinser has been previously arrested for possession of cocaine.
Traffic Stop for Driver Traveling Over 100 mph Leads to Two Arrests
On Sunday, a traffic stop for super speeding on the highway led to two arrests.
Sunday afternoon, a Traffic Enforcement Unit deputy observed a vehicle traveling over 100 mph while conducting speed enforcement along Interstate 95. The deputy’s radar confirmed the vehicle was traveling at 108 mph.
The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with two occupants: the driver, Ke’Shawree Cooks, 27, of Jacksonville, and a passenger, Timothy Wright, 28, of Deltona. While speaking with the occupants, the deputy noticed the strong odor of marijuana and observed Wright holding a burnt rolled cigar blunt.
Inside the vehicle, which Cooks stated was a rental car, deputies located a plastic bag on the passenger-side floorboard. Inside the bag deputies found a Styrofoam food container, which contained a wallet wrapped in trash. Inside the wallet, which Wright had earlier told deputies he did not have on him, were Wright’s ID card and marijuana stuffed into a pocket. Deputies determined Wright had hidden the marijuana in his wallet and then hid his wallet.
Deputies arrested Cooks for dangerous excessive speeding (100+ mph) and Wright for possession of marijuana (20 grams or less) and tampering with evidence. Both were transported to the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility. Cooks was released on a $500 bond, and Wright was later released on a $3,000 bond.

“One traffic stop led to two arrests,” said Sheriff Staly. “Don’t be stupid and think you can fly through Flagler County endangering yourself and others on the roadway. That’ll earn you a trip to the Green Roof Inn. I commend our Traffic Unit for keeping our roads safe and looking beyond the stop, which in this case resulted in both occupants going to jail.”
Wright has an extensive arrest history with over 20 previous arrests for charges including burglary, grand theft, fraudulent use of a credit card, retail theft, felony petit theft, and criminal mischief. His previous arrests have resulted in 12 felony convictions.
