Palm Coast City Council Member Charles Gambaro announced on May 18, 2026, that he is endorsing Ramon Marrero to succeed him in the District 4 seat on the Palm Coast City Council. Gambaro, who currently represents District 4, is leaving the council to run for Congress in Florida’s 6th Congressional District.
Who Is Ramon Marrero
Marrero is an Army veteran, a retired law enforcement officer, and a retired businessman. He is the founder and president of the Flagler County Hispanic American Cultural Society and recently served on the Palm Coast City Council Charter Review Committee. He has lived in Palm Coast with his family for more than 18 years.
What Gambaro Said
Gambaro offered a full endorsement of Marrero, citing his character and qualifications. “Ramon has demonstrated strong leadership, dedication to our community, and a deep commitment to transparent and effective governance,” Gambaro said. “He understands the importance of fiscal responsibility, smart growth, and preserving the quality of life that makes Palm Coast a great place to live, work, and raise a family. His experience, integrity, and passion for public service make him exceptionally well-qualified to represent District 4 on the City Council. Marrero’s Response
Marrero expressed gratitude for the endorsement and outlined his priorities if elected. “It is an honor to receive the support of a decorated combat leader, veteran and public servant as General Gambaro,” Marrero said. “I look forward to driving positive change as the next City Councilman for District 4 by fighting for lower taxes, economic development, affordable living, smart growth, and improving our city’s infrastructure.”
