Dirt, Paint, and Pollinators: Hammock Gardens Offers Three Weeks of Garden Art Summer Camp for Kids

A Palm Coast nursery is turning its outdoor space into a classroom this June, offering children ages 7 to 12 three separate week-long camp sessions that combine hands-on gardening with nature-inspired art — and space is limited.

Hammock Gardens Nursery & Landscaping in Palm Coast is offering its Garden & Art Summer Camp 2026, a morning program for children ages 7 to 12 that runs across three separate weeks in June. Each session meets from 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday and focuses on a different outdoor theme that blends gardening activities with creative art projects. Pre-registration is required and spots are limited. All materials and plants are included in the cost.

What campers will do

The program combines outdoor learning with hands-on art in multiple mediums including clay, paint, watercolor, printmaking, and mixed media. Alongside the art projects, campers will work with plants, learn basic gardening concepts, and create their own garden projects. Parents are advised to send their children dressed for outdoor and messy activities, with a snack and a drink.

The three sessions

The first session, “Garden Party for Pollinators,” runs June 8 through 12. It focuses on butterflies, bees, and hummingbirds, with projects designed to teach children how pollinators support healthy gardens. The second session, “Gnome Sweet Gnome,” takes place June 15 through 19. Campers will design miniature gnome gardens using small-scale landscapes and natural elements while creating nature-inspired artwork and sculptures. The third and final session, “Wildlife Café: Birds, Seeds & Creations,” runs June 22 through 26, exploring backyard birds and the plants that provide food and habitat for them.
