David Sullivan, a veteran and current Palm Coast City Council member who previously chaired the Flagler County Commission, has added his name to the growing list of local officials backing Charles Gambaro in the Republican primary for Florida’s 6th Congressional District.
Sullivan’s endorsement
Sullivan cited Gambaro’s military background, his record on fiscal issues, and his work supporting veterans as reasons for his support. Both Sullivan and Gambaro are military veterans. Sullivan said their shared experience in public service and the military informed his decision.

Gambaro’s response
Gambaro issued a statement thanking Sullivan and outlining priorities he said he would pursue in Congress if elected.

The race ahead
The endorsement from Sullivan follows a previous endorsement of Gambaro by retired Volusia County Sheriff and former County Councilman Ben Johnson, announced in April 2026.
