From cord-cutting workshops and Kentucky Derby hat-making to a movie matinee and a General Knowledge Trivia showdown, the Flagler County Public Library has something free for adults at both its Bunnell and Palm Coast branches this spring.
Bunnell Library at NEXUS — 2199 Commerce Parkway, Bunnell
The Bunnell branch has three events coming up in the final days of April. On April 28 from 3 to 5 p.m., the library is hosting a “Cutting the Cord” workshop, where adults can learn how to drop traditional cable or satellite TV in favor of streaming services such as Netflix or Hulu. Participants are asked to have a basic understanding of email and the internet before attending. More details are available at flaglerlibrary.org.
On April 29 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., the branch will offer Chair Yoga, a gentle yoga class designed for older adults or those with limited mobility. No registration details were provided for that class.
On April 30 from 3 to 5 p.m., ahead of the Kentucky Derby, participants are invited to design and decorate traditional Kentucky Derby fascinators — the decorative hats worn at the famous horse race. More details can be found at flaglerlibrary.org.

Palm Coast Branch Library — 2500 Palm Coast Parkway NW, Palm Coast
The Palm Coast branch has a longer string of events running from late April through mid-May. On April 28 from 5 to 6:30 p.m., a Creative Writing class welcomes adults of all experience levels to explore fiction, poetry, memoirs, and other writing forms through guided exercises and group discussion. No registration is required. Details are at flaglerlibrary.org.
On May 1 from 1 to 4 p.m., the library will screen a Movie Matinee — a musical drama based on the true story of Mike and Claire Sardina, two Milwaukee musicians who form a Neil Diamond tribute band called “Lightning and Thunder.” The film follows their journey from small bars to local fame while exploring their relationship and personal challenges.
On May 2 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Book Fest 2026 returns to the Palm Coast branch. More than 40 local authors will be on hand to meet readers, discuss their work, and showcase books across genres including fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and children’s literature. For information, call 386-446-6763 ext. 3713 or email grose@flaglercounty.gov.
On May 6 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., the library hosts Yoga at the Library, open to all experience levels. Registration is required — call 386-446-6763. More details at flaglerlibrary.org.
On May 9 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., the library holds its Book and Bake Sale — and Car Show — in the meeting room and under the front porch. All proceeds support library programs and improvements. Credit cards and cash are accepted, though no large bills. Checks are accepted with a valid driver’s license.
On May 16 from 1 to 2 p.m., the library hosts General Knowledge Trivia. Participants can come solo or with a team and compete for bragging rights and prizes. Light refreshments and coffee will be provided. Details at flaglerlibrary.org.
