Palm Coast Approves $6.56 Million Resurfacing Project for Palm Coast Parkway and Surrounding Streets

The City of Palm Coast is preparing to resurface one of its busiest roadways and several surrounding streets as part of a major infrastructure investment approved by the City Council.

At its February 3 meeting, the Palm Coast City Council voted to approve a contract with Halifax Paving, Inc. for the 2026 Street Resurfacing Project. The project will address Palm Coast Parkway from US-1 to the Hammock Dunes Toll Bridge, which serves as a key arterial roadway for thousands of residents, businesses, and visitors daily.

The work will extend beyond the main corridor to include Bridgehaven Drive, Corporate Drive, Pinecone Drive, Diandra Throughway, Harbor Center Way, Florida Park Drive, Clubhouse Drive, Colbert Lane, and Fairways Circle.

Crews will mill 1.5 inches of existing asphalt and replace it with 1.5 inches of new asphalt across the project area. Additional work includes roadway base repairs where needed, updated pavement markings, and adjustments to water valves and manholes.

The project also includes several safety and infrastructure improvements. Extended turn lanes will be added westbound at Bridgehaven Drive and at Pine Lakes Parkway. Enhanced striping will be applied throughout the project area, along with new roundabout striping at Town Center and Landing Boulevard. Pedestrian crosswalk improvements and select concrete curb work to support future infrastructure needs are also part of the scope.

Construction is expected to take approximately 120 days once work begins. To reduce disruption during peak travel times, all work will be performed during nighttime hours between 8 p.m. and 7 a.m. Residents should anticipate temporary lane closures, reduced speeds, and traffic delays while construction is underway. The city has committed to maintaining access to homes and businesses throughout the project and will provide advance notice as work moves through each area.

The total project cost is $6.56 million, funded through the City’s Street Improvement Fund. Construction is projected to begin in early summer and be completed in the fall.

City officials are asking residents to use caution when traveling through construction zones and to follow posted signage. Updates on construction schedules and traffic impacts will be shared through the City’s website, social media channels, and weekly e-newsletter.
