The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office made 11 arrests over the weekend of October 3-6, 2025, while responding to 518 calls for service and conducting 91 traffic stops.
Two arrests highlighted the weekend activity: a domestic violence incident involving hot grease and a traffic stop that ended in a foot chase.
Domestic Violence Arrest After Grease Incident
Deputies arrested Gerald Vingara, 49, of Bunnell, on Saturday evening following a domestic disturbance in the L-Section of Palm Coast. According to the victim’s account, she asked Vingara to make her food during a diabetic episode. The victim told deputies that Vingara placed hot noodles on her face and arms, then later threw a pan of hot grease in her direction during an argument, causing burns.
Deputies found Vingara driving into Bunnell and conducted a traffic stop. Vingara disputed the victim’s account, claiming she had thrown the pan. However, investigators determined the grease pattern at the scene matched the victim’s statement rather than Vingara’s version of events.

“This was a very immature and dangerous response to an argument,” said Sheriff Rick Staly. “Throwing a frying pan filled with hot grease is never the answer to an argument. October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and our community must know that we won’t tolerate this kind of behavior or violence.”
Vingara was charged with felony battery for causing burns resulting in permanent disfigurement. He was released from the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility on $500 bond.
Traffic Stop Leads to Foot Chase, Multiple Charges
On Sunday evening, deputies attempted to stop a white Ford truck traveling without headlights on County Road 90 in Bunnell. The vehicle belonged to Dwayne Dameron, 56, of Bunnell, who had an active warrant for violation of probation.
Dameron failed to stop, drove to his residence on County Road 75, then fled on foot into his backyard. Deputies established a perimeter and quickly apprehended him.

“This guy thought that he could evade our deputies, but instead he went to jail tired with more charges than he had on his warrant,” Sheriff Staly said. “Our K-9 Unit was called to respond, and luckily for this guy, our deputies caught him before a dog had an opportunity to take a bite out of crime.”
Dameron was arrested on his active warrant plus additional charges of fleeing or attempting to elude law enforcement with lights and sirens activated, resisting an officer without violence, and violation of probation. He is being held without bond.
Dameron has a history of arrests in Flagler County, including domestic battery, battery by strangulation, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.
