The academy has become recognized as the premier course of executive study for mid-to-upper-level Florida Sheriff’s Office leaders.

Leaders throughout Florida Sheriffs’ Offices participated in a variety of curricula focusing on leadership, ethics, discipline, and additional subject matter areas related to upper-level leadership in a Florida Sheriff’s Office. The remaining curriculum is adjusted according to emerging trends and issues that have an impact on Florida Sheriff’s Offices and recent high-profile events.

In 2021, he was appointed to Commander, and he currently commands FCSO’s Districts 1 and 3 law enforcement services and leads our SWAT team. During his time at the FCSO, he has received many commendations for his professionalism and service to our community, along with numerous Unit Citations.

In addition to completing this two-week training course, Commanders Academy Class 17 also raised $106,320 for the Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches. This generous donation will help support the mission of the Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches in preventing delinquency and in developing lawful, resilient, and productive citizens.
