Recovery Groups to Host Community Walk at Treaty Park This Wednesday

Discover & Recover St. Johns County and Flagler OARS will host a Recovery Walk this Wednesday, July 23, to bring community members together for connection and support.

The walk begins at 9 a.m. at Treaty Park, with participants meeting at 1595 Wildwood Drive in St. Augustine.

The event is open to anyone in recovery, supporting a loved one through recovery, or looking to connect with others in a recovery-focused environment. Organizers are encouraging participants to invite friends and family members and to wear comfortable walking shoes.

Brock Birtolo, executive director of Flagler OARS, spoke about the purpose behind the event. “Recovery is stronger when people do not have to do it alone,” Birtolo said. “This walk is about showing up for one another, building community connections, and reminding people that support is available.”

Discover & Recover St. Johns County and Flagler OARS provide peer support and recovery resources for individuals and families. The organizations work to reduce stigma, strengthen community partnerships, and connect residents to services and support.

For more information, residents can contact the peer line at 386-233-3444 for the Flagler office or 904-495-0625 for the St. Johns office.
