The City of Flagler Beach has launched a new award to recognize businesses and homeowners who help keep the city looking its best.
The Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) Monthly Beautification Award was created by the Community Redevelopment Agency Advisory Board (CRAAB). It will honor businesses and residents who contribute to the beauty, character, and vitality of the CRA District.
Each month, the award will go to one commercial or residential property based on its appearance, upkeep, and contribution to the community. CRA Director Casey Ryan explained the goal behind the program. “The program is designed to encourage community pride while highlighting those whose efforts help create a welcoming and attractive environment for residents and visitors alike,” Ryan said.
The CRA Advisory Board will choose the winners. Each winning property will display an award sign out front for the entire month. Winners will also be recognized on the city’s website, its social media pages, its mobile app, its Notify Me alert system, at First Friday events, and during City Commission and CRA Board meetings.
Compass Hotel by Margaritaville has been named the first winner, receiving the July 2026 award.
Residents and business owners can nominate a property by contacting any member of the CRA Advisory Board. The formal release date for the announcement is 9 a.m. EST on July 12, 2026.
For more information, the city can be reached at 386-517-2000 or comments@cityofflaglerbeach.com.
