Six AdventHealth Hospitals in Central Florida Earn Top Safety Grades, Some for More Than Two Decades Running

Six AdventHealth hospitals serving communities across Flagler, Marion, and Volusia counties have each received an “A” Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group, the highest rating the national nonprofit awards. The grades were announced May 6, 2026.

The hospitals receiving top marks are AdventHealth DeLand, AdventHealth Fish Memorial, AdventHealth New Smyrna Beach, AdventHealth Ocala, AdventHealth Palm Coast, and AdventHealth Palm Coast Parkway. The Leapfrog Group evaluates hospitals twice a year using more than 30 measures tied to how well they prevent medical errors, injuries, and infections. The program is peer-reviewed, publicly reported, and designed to give patients a straightforward way to compare hospital safety performance before making health care decisions.

Several of the hospitals have maintained the top grade for an extended period. AdventHealth DeLand has earned 23 consecutive “A” grades — the longest-running streak in the region — followed by AdventHealth Fish Memorial with 22 straight top ratings. AdventHealth Ocala has reached seven consecutive “A” grades, and AdventHealth New Smyrna Beach has earned five in a row. AdventHealth Palm Coast Parkway received its first-ever grade this cycle, having opened in 2023.

Rob Deininger, executive vice president and CEO of AdventHealth’s East Florida Division, said the recognition reflects the work happening across all levels of each hospital. “Recognition like this reflects the accountability and teamwork required to deliver care our community can trust,” Deininger said. “Patient safety comes from consistent use of our clinical processes over time, and teams staying focused on the details for every patient. It’s also one of the clearest ways we live out our mission.”
