A driver who admitted impairment at the scene of a rollover crash and a teen caught with 26 grams of marijuana packaged in six separate bags were among 11 people arrested in Flagler County over the May 1–4 weekend.
Arrest 1: Overturned truck, two firearms, and a blood alcohol level twice the legal limit
At approximately 11:25 p.m. on May 2, deputies responded to a 911 call about a crash on Seminole Woods Boulevard in Palm Coast. When they arrived, they found a white 2017 GMC truck overturned on its side with debris and tools scattered across the road, forcing partial lane closures. Multiple airbags had deployed and the truck sustained heavy damage. Two occupants were present — the driver, Allan Wilson, 26, of Palm Coast, and a passenger. Both said they were not injured and declined medical services.

A passenger and an independent witness both told deputies that Wilson had been driving at the time of the crash. Wilson himself removed any doubt, stating spontaneously at the scene, “I’m drunk, I was driving.” Deputies observed the smell of alcohol on his breath, watery eyes, and unsteady balance. Wilson was unable to complete the walk-and-turn field sobriety exercise and it was stopped for his safety. An empty liquor bottle was found inside the vehicle, along with two firearms.
Wilson was arrested for DUI and taken to the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility. He provided two breath samples, which came back at 0.158 and 0.161 — more than twice Florida’s legal limit of 0.08. He was later released on a $1,000 bond.
“Driving impaired is reckless, selfish, and it puts innocent people in danger. He’s lucky he didn’t kill himself or his sober passenger. Now his truck is totaled, he’s in jail and facing a serious DUI charge and his insurance will skyrocket!”
— Sheriff Rick Staly, Flagler County Sheriff’s Office
Arrest 2: Tag light violation leads to 26 grams of packaged marijuana
Just after midnight on May 2, at approximately 12:09 a.m., a deputy stopped a blue Volkswagen on Kanawha Court in Palm Coast because the vehicle did not have working tag lights. The driver was identified as Predarren Barnes, 18, of Palm Coast.
The deputy detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Barnes told the deputy that his father smokes in the car and that he himself does not have a medical marijuana card. A search of the vehicle turned up a backpack hidden under the passenger seat and partially covered by clothing. Inside were six individual plastic bags containing a green leafy substance, along with rolling papers. The bags combined weighed 26.09 grams and later tested positive for marijuana.

Because the marijuana exceeded 20 grams and was divided into multiple individual bags consistent with distribution, deputies arrested Barnes for possession of cannabis over 20 grams with intent to sell. He was transported to the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility, where he is being held with no bond.
“Individually packaged marijuana doesn’t magically appear in a backpack for ‘personal use’ — it’s packaged that way to sell. If you’re transporting illegal substances in Flagler County, expect a quick traffic stop to turn into a trip to the Green Roof Inn.”
— Sheriff Rick Staly, Flagler County Sheriff’s Office
All charges are allegations — no convictions have been established. The “Green Roof Inn” is the local nickname for the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility. More information about the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office is available at flaglersheriff.com.
