Palm Coast Rings In 21st Annual Arbor Day with Free Trees, Butterfly Release, and Paper Shredding on May 2

Palm Coast’s annual Arbor Day Celebration is returning for its 21st year on Saturday, May 2, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Central Park at Town Center, located at 975 Central Avenue. The free community event features activities for all ages centered on environmental education, conservation, and community engagement.

Free Trees in Exchange for Food Donations

One of the most popular features of the event is back. Flowing Well Tree Farm will once again supply complimentary 3-gallon trees for attendees who bring a non-perishable food item to donate to local food banks. The exchange connects environmental giving with support for the local community.

Other Activities and Highlights

Free on-site paper shredding will be available for residents who want to safely dispose of personal documents while supporting responsible recycling. A walk-through butterfly tent will give visitors of all ages the chance to observe live butterflies up close and learn about their role in healthy ecosystems. A special butterfly release is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. The event will also feature interactive, kid-friendly activities, educational booths, and demonstrations covering conservation techniques, city environmental initiatives, and tips for sustainable living at home. Food and beverages will be available for purchase throughout the morning.

From the City’s Urban Forester

City of Palm Coast Urban Forester Carol Mini reflected on what the event means to the community. “Each year, Arbor Day inspires us to reconnect with nature and with one another,” Mini said. “The 21st annual celebration builds on that legacy with new experiences, meaningful environmental action, and a renewed sense of community pride. We’re excited to welcome everyone back to celebrate with us.”
