City offices closed multiple days; residents advised of adjusted waste collection and facility hours
The City of Palm Coast has announced its holiday schedule for the Christmas and New Year period, including office closures, changes to waste collection services, modified hours at parks and recreation facilities, and the return of its annual Christmas tree recycling event.
City offices will be closed on Wednesday, December 24, and Thursday, December 25, for the Christmas holiday. Regular office hours will resume Friday, December 26, through Wednesday, December 31. Offices will close again on Thursday, January 1, 2026, and Friday, January 2, 2026, for the New Year holiday.
Waste collection services will see several adjustments during the holiday period. On Wednesday, December 24, there will be no change to collection services. On Thursday, December 25, garbage collection will not be available. Bulk collection normally scheduled for that day has been moved to Monday, December 22, and recycling collection has been rescheduled for Saturday, December 27.
For New Year’s Day on Thursday, January 1, 2026, garbage collection will not be available. Bulk collection has been rescheduled for Monday, December 29, and recycling has been moved to Saturday, January 3, 2026. The city noted that collection may occur anytime between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Several parks and recreation facilities will operate on modified schedules during the holidays. On December 24, the Palm Coast Aquatics Center and Southern Recreation Center will be closed, while the Palm Coast Community Center will be open for permitted programs only. Palm Harbor Golf Course will operate modified hours from 7 a.m. to noon.
On December 25, all facilities, including the Palm Coast Aquatics Center, Southern Recreation Center, Palm Coast Community Center, and Palm Harbor Golf Course, will be closed.
On December 31, the Palm Coast Aquatics Center will be closed. The Southern Recreation Center will operate modified hours from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., and the Palm Coast Community Center will be open until 6 p.m. The Palm Harbor Golf Course will be open.
On January 1, 2026, the Palm Coast Aquatics Center, Southern Recreation Center, and Palm Coast Community Center will be closed, while the Palm Harbor Golf Course will be open. On January 2, 2026, the Palm Coast Aquatics Center will remain closed, but the Southern Recreation Center, Palm Coast Community Center, and Palm Harbor Golf Course will all be open.
The city also announced its 17th Annual Christmas Tree Recycling Event, scheduled for Saturday, January 10, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Palm Coast Fuel Depot located at 22 Utility Drive.
Residents can recycle their Christmas trees in exchange for a free three-gallon evergreen tree while supplies last. The city asks that all decorations, lights, tinsel, and ornaments be removed from trees before donation. All donated trees will be ground into mulch to beautify Palm Coast’s parks and trails.
