New online hub provides real-time information on 18-mile coastline restoration efforts
Flagler County announced on December 15 the launch of a new website dedicated to providing updates on beach nourishment and restoration projects along the county’s 18-mile Atlantic coastline.
The Flagler County Beach Brief, available at www.Flagler-County-Beach-Brief.com, serves as a central information hub for residents, visitors, and stakeholders seeking updates on the county’s ongoing beach management efforts.
The website provides information related to the Flagler County Beach Management Plan, which was adopted on October 16, 2023. That plan outlines seven goals and ten implementation strategies, with an emphasis on physical restoration through beach and dune nourishment. The restoration efforts involve partnerships with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, and local entities.
According to the county, the new landing page features detailed project timelines, drone footage, funding breakdowns, permit statuses, and photo updates. Officials said the site is designed to ensure transparency and community engagement throughout the restoration process.
“We are committed to protecting and enhancing our precious coastline for future generations,” said Flagler County Administrator Heidi Petito. “This landing page will provide constant, accessible updates as we continue these vital restoration efforts.”
