Palm Coast Teen Arrested on Felony Charges After Armed Robbery and Assault

A 16-year-old Palm Coast teenager faces multiple felony charges following a violent home robbery over the weekend that left one victim injured.

The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office arrested Dakoda Nodelman after responding to a 911 call shortly after midnight on Sunday, November 16. The caller reported that several people had entered a home on Pitt Lane and attacked someone inside, and that a firearm was discharged during the incident.

A victim told detectives he and a friend had gone to the residence to “pick up a package.” Upon entering the home, two masked men who had followed him inside immediately attacked him. The victim identified one of the masked attackers as Nodelman, who repeatedly struck him in the head with a firearm before chasing him outside.

A second victim, who was sitting in their vehicle, told detectives he fled after a man pointed a gun at him from the driver’s side while a woman opened the passenger door where he was seated.

Major Case Unit detectives determined that Nodelman followed the first victim into the home, struck him repeatedly in the head with a firearm, and then pointed the gun at the second victim before searching through their vehicle. During the robbery, Nodelman took the first victim’s shoes, cell phone, and car keys.

After obtaining a search warrant, detectives found the victim’s car keys hidden in a dirty cat litter box and the shoes under a bed.

During questioning, Nodelman told detectives he fell in the grass outside after the altercation, causing the firearm to discharge accidentally. He said he disposed of the gun after leaving the scene.

“This is a prime example of why parents need to be the sheriff of their own home,” said Sheriff Rick Staly. “This kind of violent behavior by juveniles will not be tolerated in Flagler County. This teenager should have never been in possession of a firearm to begin with. Kids, guns and committing crimes is a recipe for disaster. Hopefully, our State Attorney with his Kids & Guns initiative will charge him as an adult, as his actions could have been deadly.”

Nodelman was arrested on felony charges of robbery with a firearm, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He was processed at the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility and turned over to the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice.

The investigation remains active. Anyone with information about the case should contact Master Detective Adam Gossett at AGossett@flaglersheriff.com.
