Nexus Center Ribbon Cutting and Grand Opening Set for December 4

The Nexus Center, the new home of the Bunnell Library and Flagler County Health and Human Services, will hold its ribbon cutting ceremony and Grand Opening Gala on Thursday, December 4.

The ribbon cutting will begin at 4 p.m. at the Nexus Center, located at 2199 Commerce Parkway. Tours and events will follow from 4:30 to 7 p.m.

Snacks and beverages will be available in the Community Room, which will feature a DJ and a 360 photobooth. Magician Mark Alan will perform a show in the Youth Services Program Room and entertain guests with sleight-of-hand tricks throughout the event.

Princess Tiana and Sonic the Hedgehog will appear in the Children’s Room, while video games will be available in the Teen Center. The Innovation Lab will host an Ozobot demonstration and button-making activities.

Tours will be self-guided, with staff available to answer questions.

The complete schedule of activities includes:

  • Bradley Cohen Music: DJ and saxophone from 4:30 to 7 p.m.
  • Princess Tiana and Sonic the Hedgehog appearances from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
  • 360 Photobooth from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
  • Ozobot demonstrations from 4:30 to 7 p.m. The Ozobots use colors as code to determine their actions.
  • Mark Alan Magic show and strolling magic from 4:30 to 7 p.m.
  • Super Smash Bros. and other video games in the Teen Room from 4:30 to 6:45 p.m.
  • Button making in the Innovation Lab from 4:30 to 6:45 p.m.
