The City of Palm Coast will temporarily close several park facilities starting December 1 for routine maintenance and seasonal updates.
The Splash Pad at James F. Holland Memorial Park will close for maintenance work including cleaning and replacing Life Floor tiles, replacing gaskets in water features, replacing pump room valves and UV bulbs, performing chlorinator maintenance, servicing chemical system feeds, and repainting and repairing the pavilion. The Splash Pad will reopen March 1, 2026, for its 2026 season.
The dog parks at Holland Park will close December 15-22 for aeration and seeding with rye grass for the colder months.
Indian Trails Sports Complex will close December 8 through January 5, 2026, for its seasonal transition to ryegrass across 35 acres of fields. Crews have already started applying herbicide and aerating the grounds, and will add nutrient-rich green command sand as part of the process. The four-week closure allows the rye seed to germinate and grow to the required 1-2 inches for durability during cold weather.
“We want to thank the residents and visitors to our facilities for their patience as we work to complete our annual transition process and make our fields play-ready throughout the colder months,” said Recreation Supervisor Joe Higgs. “As our Bermuda grass grows dormant this time of year, this process brings an added layer of protection and quality that allows our fields to be used year-round, which is a big benefit for everyone who visits our fields and facilities.”
