Deputies Arrest Out-of-County Fugitive in Palm Coast

On Friday night, deputies were notified by the FCSO Real Time Crime Center that a silver Chevrolet SUV registered to a Palm Coast woman with an active felony warrant from Volusia County was driving along Belle Terre Parkway in Palm Coast. Deputies responded to the area and located the vehicle in a driveway on Post Tree Lane. There, deputies located Terri Cannon-Palmer, 57, who was wanted for grand theft and organized scheme to defraud.

Deputies arrested Cannon-Palmer on her active out-of-county warrant. She was transported to the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility, where she was later released on a $5,000 bond.

“If you are wanted by another jurisdiction, don’t think for a second that you can drive through Flagler County unnoticed,” said Sheriff Rick Staly.

Early-Morning Traffic Stop Leads to Arrest for Multiple Felonies

On Sunday morning, a deputy patrolling Belle Terre Parkway conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle after he observed multiple traffic violations. While speaking with the driver, identified as Mekhi Boone, 18, of Palm Coast, the deputy smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle.

When the deputy asked Boone if he had any illegal contraband, he noticed that Boone kept glancing at a backpack on the floorboard in front of the passenger seat. As the deputy walked around the vehicle to get a different look, he noticed Boone begin to reach toward the bag. The deputy then asked Boone to exit the vehicle.

During a search of the vehicle, deputies located approximately 66 grams of marijuana, two scales, and over 30 mylar bags, with some containing marijuana and some being empty and ready for packaging. Deputies also found a counterfeit driver’s license, with a different birth date than Boone’s real license, and four debit cards that did not belong to him.

Deputies arrested Boone for possession of marijuana with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a counterfeit driver’s license, unlawful possession of personal identification of another person, and refusal to deliver lost or abandoned property.

“What started as a minor traffic stop turned into an arrest after our deputies found drugs, a fake driver’s license, and debit cards that this guy found and kept for himself,” said Sheriff Staly. “I always ask our deputies to look beyond the traffic stop to help make our community safer and drug free, which is exactly what they did in this case.”

Boone was transported to the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility, where he was later released on a $6,150 bond.
